What to expect on your first visit
Please don't be nervous! Everyone here was nervous on their first morning but they came back!! Just give it a go - no pressure.

Arrival
Great time to arrive is about 10.20am ready for service at 10.30am. There is usually a church member outside, most of the time it is Eric, looking out for anyone new. He will bring you into the church and introduce you to an elder. They will find you a comfortable seat either next to a friendly member or on your own, whatever you feel is best for you.
Bathrooms
There is a small toilet to the right as soon as you enter the church porch. There is a larger toilet suitable for wheelchair users, through the church itself by the kitchen.
Access
Parking is fairly limited just outside the church but there are spaces in nearby streets. If you cannot make the small step to access the church, there is a ramp to the side. A member will help you.
Church notices
Church information is given out first. This might be a new event that is happening or information about a church member. Birthday wishes are sung at this time too!
The minister's introduction
The minister will then stand in a simple pulpit and deliver the service. It is always friendly without fuss or over the top formality or ceremony. Prayers are often said first followed by around three hymns. The words are on the screen, so you don't have to find them in a hymn book. You are invited to stand if you can, but a few of our church members are more comfortable sitting.
The minister's message
The minister will then deliver his or her message and a church member will read a passage from the bible. This is planned - no-one is asked to read as a surprise!
The minister's conclusion
The Prayer of Concern is then read and followed by the final hymn and blessing.
Donations
Please don't worry about donations on your first visit. If you would like to give in the future, there is a wooden bowl by the pillar in the middle of the church where you are can donate before the service. The bowl is not passed around the congregation so please don't worry if you arrive without any cash!
Communion and coffee morning
Communion is every first Sunday of the month. This is brought to you at your seat by an elder and we drink and eat when the minister says. Communion is always followed by coffee and cake in the church hall. Everyone is welcome. There is often a small raffle where the tickets are £1.00 a strip.
We hope this explanation of the church makes you feel more comfortable to come. This church welcomes everyone from any background or diversity so please be reassured you will be met with kindness.
